What is Crime Scene Cleanup?
The crime scene cleanup industry is a specialized field dedicated to the safe and thorough cleaning of environments affected by traumatic events such as homicides, suicides, unattended deaths, and biohazard contamination. Professionals in this industry must adhere to strict health and safety regulations to properly handle biohazardous materials, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous chemicals. Obtaining a crime scene cleaning certification is crucial for those looking to enter this field, as it ensures compliance with industry standards and proper training in decontamination techniques. Many aspiring technicians enroll in a crime scene cleaning course to gain hands-on experience and knowledge about cleaning protocols, OSHA regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. For added convenience, individuals can also pursue a crime scene cleanup certification online, allowing them to study at their own pace while learning essential decontamination procedures, crime scene management, and legal considerations.
Why Should I Receive a Biohazard Removal Certification?
Crime scene cleanup training, also referred to as biorecovery technician training, is crucial because it equips professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to handle biohazardous materials safely and effectively. This specialized training ensures that cleaners understand the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste, and the protocols for disinfecting contaminated areas. Proper training also helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases, protects the health of both the cleanup crew and the public, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

We Are Here To Help You With Any Questions You May Have
Not all online training programs are created equally. However, based on student feedback, our online course is just as good as any in-person or hands-on training course you could attend. An in-person training course, with travel, food and lodging, costs upwards of $1,800. Since many students aren’t able to take a week off work to attend an in-person course, or simply can’t afford it, this online certification course is a great option.
Course certificates are created on Monday of each week and sent in digital format to your account email address. Digital certificates can be sent to insurance companies, clients and others who may want to see your credentials. Digital certificates can also be displayed on your website and in your marketing materials. If you choose to pay for the course through monthly installments, your certificates will be emailed on the Monday after receipt of the last payment.
Yes of course you may. This course is open to students worldwide. That said, we are not familiar with every rule, regulation and law in every country, region, state or city. It’s up to you to determine if you will need additional training or certifications over and above what we provide through our course. Oftentimes, all you will need is to pay for a license to conduct business or apply for a permit to generate or haul biohazards. It is our experience that in most areas, our training course will provide you with all the training and resources you’ll need.
The methods and procedures for remediating a crime or trauma scene is the same, regardless of the city, state or country you live in. Some city, states and countries may require you to obtain a license to practice as a crime scene cleanup technician. This licensing requirement generally requires you to complete a form and send in a small payment. Once you complete our training course, inquire with your local licensing division to see if any other requirements should be met.
